Policies
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
These Policies and procedures
are meant to protect our guests. All guests are required to
conform to all policies and procedures. Violators are subject
to eviction according to Florida Statute 509.141
AGE REQUIREMENT
The individual making the reservation
must be 25 years of age or older and must occupy the rental
property the entire term of the reservation. Singles under
25 years of age are prohibited unless accompanied by parent
or legal guardian. Restrictions may apply regarding the number
of people that may accompany a parent or legal guardian. Additional
restrictions may apply during the spring break vacation period.
Chaperoned groups are prohibited.
1. Check in and check out:
Check in is between 3-5pm, unless prior arrangements have
been made. Check out is 10:00 AM. All late departures will
be charged a late check out fee equal to a ½-day rental.
2. Reservations:
Reservations are encouraged and can be made up to one year
in advance. However, rates are not guaranteed.
3. Cancellations:
There is a $25 handling fee on any cancelled reservation outside
2 weeks of your arrival date. Inside 2 weeks of arrival date
will forfeit full deposit. IF YOU CANCEL OR NO-SHOW ON
YOUR DATE OF ARRIVAL YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE ENTIRE RENTAL
BALANCE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD.
Early departures for any reason
(including weather) are not entitled to any refund of rent
or deposit.
4. Deposits:
A deposit of $200.00 is due upon making a reservation. This
deposit will be coming off the total on the rent. We gladly
accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Must have a valid credit
card at the time of the reservation.
5. Monthly Reservations:
Reservations for 2 ½ months or longer will be given
priority during the winter season. Monthly renters must cancel
60 days prior to the arrival date to obtain a $175.00 refund.
Reservations that are canceled within the 60 days will forfeit
full amount of deposit.
6. Payment:
Full payment is due prior to or at check-in. Refunds will
not be given for late arrivals or early departures. Rental
rates are subject to all state and local taxes.
7. Minimum Stay:
Rental rates are based on a 3 night minimum stay. A longer
minimum stay may be required during peak season.
8. Linens:
Linens and an initial setup of toiletries, trashcan liners,
etc. will be provided. Any additional items needed are the
responsibility of the guest.
9. Housekeeping:
Fees include a one-time setup and cleaning service after your
departure. Each guest is required to maintain the unit as
it was at check in. If the unit is left damaged or additional
cleaning is necessary, the guest will be charged an additional
cleaning fee.
10. Maintenance:
We appreciate your reporting any maintenance items and will
respond to them as soon as possible.
11. Key Policy/Lock Outs:
Guests are responsible for returning all keys that are signed
for at check in. A $10.00 lost key charge will be imposed
against the deposit for all lost or non-returned keys. After
hour lock-outs will be charged $40.00.
12. Damages:
Any damage noticed upon check in should be reported to the
front desk immediately. If damage is not reported, your deposit
may be charged for the cost of the repair. The unit will be
inspected upon check out. Any damages reported will be deducted
from the damage deposit.
13. No Smoking:
Smoking is not permitted in the units.
14. Balconies:
Cooking, grilling, feeding seagulls, or hanging towels, bathing
suits, etc., on balconies is NOT PERMITTED.
Do not lean over balconies. Most importantly, keep in mind
that if something falls or is thrown off the balcony, it can
cause severe and/or fatal injury to persons below. Once again,
parents will be held responsible for their children's actions.
15. Pet Policy:
Absolutely no pets are permitted in rental units under any
circumstances. If any evidence of a pet(s) is found in the
unit or on the premises, you will be asked to vacate immediately
with no refund of rent or damage deposit.
16. Unit Assignment:
We reserve the right to change unit assignment. When you book
a reservation a unit will be assigned however no unit request
is guaranteed. If a change becomes necessary, every attempt
will be made to contact you and a new confirmation will be
sent.
18. Hurricane Policy:
Refunds will be issued only when:
- The National Hurricane Center
advises that we are in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane
Warning Area"
- The day that the National
Hurricane Center advises that we are in a "Tropical
Storm/Hurricane Warning Area" El Matador will refund:
- Any unused portion of
rent from a guest currently registered.
- Any unused portion of
rent from a guest who is scheduled to arrive and wants
to shorten their stay to arrive after the warning has
been lifted.
- Any advance rents collected
or deposit for a reservation scheduled to arrive during
the warning period.
19. Personal Property:
El Matador will not be held responsible for acts of theft
or vandalism or other damages to the guest's personal property,
automobiles or items left in the unit.
20. Parking:
RVs including motor homes, boats, trailers, etc will
be allowed to park next to South end of Building One at rear
gate. The vehicle must fit within the boundaries of a single
parking space. Parking shall be limited One (1) day within
any Two (2) week period. Commercial Type Trucks, Truck
Tractors, or Buses will not be permitted to park within the
premises except while engaged in loading and unloading operations
or engaged in work.
